Let’s begin…

Descending from generations of islanders, being one myself, is something that first and foremost defines me. Being an islander is something you cannot escape from – and why should you at all?

I have lived my life on various islands. And I have come to realize that the core essence of an islander is pretty much always the same – it’s the water – sea or ocean, that surrounds the people living on an island. Although the popular vote see it as something that isolates us, I in the other hand have always admired the sea as a great unifier of people. As a matter of fact and no disrespect – I find the islanders to be more adventurous than mainlanders – they are eager to explore and discover. That’s exactly what I am trying to do here in this weblog – discover and tell about new and exciting stuff, but in the same time not forgetting where I am coming from, the roots, the history, the stuff that we have left behind or tend to forget.

I am going to tell you a story about how I see and feel things inside and outside the kitchens and restaurants -may those be fancy dining spots or yet undiscovered gems. Trying to do this from the perspective of not just a chef, but as a dad, a restaurateur, an islander…. maybe even a football fan, but most of all – as a person who genuinely loves food and everything related to it!
